Since the last post, the arctic temperatures have continued… EVERY DAY in January. The coldest days of the year were earlier this week. And yet, progress on the house continues. Likely, however, the cold has slowed the pace of the project. The poor plumber has done his best to work through the cold temps with portable propane heaters. The plumbing process is fascinating to watch.
This week, they dug the hole for the septic system and moved dirt around the entire property. It is challenging to capture the grading of the dirt around the house, so we will wait on pictures of that until it takes more shape. Here are some photos of the septic holes. 1.22.25 One of the photos shows the pond in the distance, partially frozen over. The workers were excited about working in our lot when comparing it to others, as it is completely sand and they could easily move the dirt around in the heated cab of the backhoe.
We have selected tile for the bathroom floors and showers. Next is selecting grout… who knew grout comes in an infinite number of colors? We will also select countertops this week.
