Walls, Water, and What’s Coming Next: Home Construction Update

There has been so much activity at the house. We are so fortunate to be living next to the construction site so we can see the progress and activity every day. Here is an update for early April – 4.10.25

The drywall is all installed and the plastering process has been completed. The cold temperatures this spring led the crew to bring in high-powered heaters to heat the house overnight so they can prime them today.

The garage door opener was installed. We will be able to use an app on our phones to open and close the garage door. The water was connected from the street to the house and the gas should be connected next week.

The septic system was connected. The neighbor’s concern in the permitting process was addressed by moving the motor and vent closer to our house and protected by one of the retaining walls. Landscaping will make it even more discrete. We had a consult with the landscaper and now we wait for the quote to see if we can afford what we want to do with landscaping.

The outdoor shower was framed and should be completed today.

The subfloor in the basement was installed. While this picture was taken late in the day, on a sunny afternoon the basement gets amazing light. What a bonus!

Finally, the tile for bathrooms was delivered.

So much activity. We will keep trying to stay up to date with documenting the process.
